Word Study

Words will be selected based upon the word study skill that the class is focusing on during the week. Word Wall words will be selected from the poem of the week.

Students should choose one activity each night, Monday through Thursday, from the assignment sheet to complete at home.

Any written work is to be returned on the last school day of the week (no pudding or peanut butter, please!! :) )

Students will be tested on the words on the last school day of the week.
Reading

Have your child read his or her books to you or another adult each and every night (your child's book baggie should be coming home every day)

This should be an independent read for your child

Question your child about what he/she has read

Please encourage your child to read fluently with lots of expression

Return the book to school the next day

Poetry Binders will be coming home every Friday to be read and returned on Monday
Math
- We will be teaching and enriching students using the first grade curriculum
- Math homework will go home every Wednesday night and should be returned on the very next school day
